But we should be mindful of the fact that the desire to commercialize is likely to jeopardize the focus on poverty reduction and serving the economically active poor.No wonder ,micro finance currently still goes to the haves in society. We therefore need to keep an eye on both sides ie both sustainability and poverty reduction.

Dear friends,

I just want to introduce you our microfinance platform Impulso , an NGO... (http://www.impulso.org.br). We actually work the same way than wokai but we focuss on Brazilian Entrepreneurs. We try to involve a bit more or contributors providing a full description of each project (videos, business description, etc...) and giving the possibility to follow-up your entrepreneur's progress and advice him. We are now online (in portugues) and a soon with an english version.

Good luck for Kiva and Wokai (that prove that this model works!!) and hope that small players like us can have a bit o visibility!

If you want more info, contact us at gui@aliancaempreendedora.org.br

Cheers

Hi,

I'm keen to get in touch with someone from Microfinance Hub regarding our upcoming Investment and Innovation in Microfinance Meeting taking place in London in May. I was really hoping that the Microfinance Hub would be interested in coming on board as a media partner for the meeting?

It would be great if we could arrange a time to speak on the phone and I could also send you through a meeting agenda.

I hope to hear back from you soon!

kind regards,

I've been participating in microloans for years now and they are such a great way to help others. Kiva.org is doing such an amazing job. Here is a site I found that is trying to get 1 million dollars for Kiva!
