This blog has looked at the debate about commercialization in microfinance through a three-post series, that considered both sides of the argument and arrived at a conclusion. There was a similar debate that took place between Vikram Akula (CEO and founder of SKS, the third commercial microfinance institution in the world) and Alex Counts (president, CEO and founder of Grameen Foundation) at the Asia Society in New York.
